Show Ashley Stake conference gives advice to members The pre siitini authority nt the Vernal Ashley Stake conference Sunday was Glade M. Sowards, Regional Representative of the Quorum of Twelve. Elder Sowards stated that if the church doesn't make tx-tter lives it isnl doing its job. "This is the good life, V people who care help others, with all the troubles in the world we need to forget ourselves and help others. We need to know how to forgive and have em paths' for others." Conducting me morning session of conference was President Nyle C. Bigelow w ho also spoke telling of some of the problems in the world today. He admonished members to trust and follow the Lord's commandments and those who are the Lord's leaders and not follow those w ho are exit for worldly g-ain. 5 Other speakers at the "conference included Don Brown. 2nd counselor in V the stake presidency, who spoke on 6 being honest in all the things we do. Pat U Jensen and David Rust spoke on what I the church does to help my family. Gary Taylor. Glade Watkins, who talked on genealogical and temple work. Three High Councilors Coun-cilors spoke. Sheldon Galley, on blessings a family receives by going to the temple; Wally Goddard, on lessons e may learn from our ancestors; and Thomas F. Howells. how to organize and strengthen families to do temple work. Elder Sowards in the afternoon soss.on stated the throe most important Programs in the church we e missionary work, reactiviation and temple work He told of the reliability re-liability of doing ,emplo work and genealogical research. Pres. Brown conducted the afternoon session of conference. Two musical numbers were sung bv the Dirk tvertson family which included their rune children. |
