Show Police seek suspect in armed robbery Vernal City Police are looking for a white male in his early 20's who was involved in the armed robbery of the Circle K, 877 West Main in Vernal, last Monday at 2:30 a.m. The suspect entered the Circle K and picked up four food items. He carried the items to the counter and proceeded around it. The cahsier grabbed his arm and said he wasn't allowed around the counter. Displaying a knife, he then told her he wanted the money, reported Vernal City Police. He took an undetermined amount of money from the register and left the market on foot traveling east. Police believe the man is between five-feet ten inches and six-feet tall, slender build with sandy blond hair. He was wearing a gold wool cap, gold t-shirt, t-shirt, and brown pants. "Because the clerk said she had seen him before," said Det. Joe Boren, "we suspect he is a local." In an unrelated case, police arrested Lora Diane Hatch of Vernal last Friday for forgery in a case which was reported last January and occured in November 1980. During that time a withdrawal from Zion's Bank of $1,000 was reportedly forged. Lora Hatch is out of the county jail on $5,000 bail, reported police. Two single vehicle accidents occurred oc-curred the first part of the week causing extensive damages, but only minor personal injuries. At 1:22 a.m. Tuesday, a 1978 Ford pickup drived by Kennie Edrington, 28, of Vernal was traveling east on Main Street at a high rate of speed, reported Sgt. Mike Hamner, Vernal City Police. He attempted to turn north at 200 West and failed to negotiate the corner rolling the vehicle twice. Minor injuries were reported to Edrington. Total damages were $5,000 to the pickup. Edrington was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol. Monday night at 9 p.m. an east-bound 1979 Ford pickup driven by Elvin G. Schmidt, 40, of Riverton, Wyo., ran into a horse on east Highway 40 near Gibsons, Gib-sons, 2999 West.
