P Merlin Walker Bob Guy Dennis Larsen and Clay Johnson Lyman Merkley Vernal was presented the first annual Conservationist of the Year award ward Merkley was chairman of or the Public Lands and Big Dig Game Game- lie He was also a member of the District Advisory Board Doard of or the Bureau Dureau of or Land Management for three years The Vernal Rod and Gun Club which dates back to 1901 is the oldest gun club in Utah It R moved to its present site In 1959 Members loaned money to the club for the down payment on the property IN 1975 1915 J J.
