| Show State Fine Arts workshop The Utah Ulah State Division of Fine Arts is presenting a Skills Development Workshop for community arts organizations as part of their Outreach Assistance program on Saturday October 15 from 8 to lo 5 pm p.m. at the Bottle Dottle Hollow Resort The rhe workshop will deal with Promotion and the Arts and will instruct how to present performances in small communities com com- The workshop content and subject matter mailer was developed by representatives from community arts councils around the state stale working in conjunction with the State Stale Division of Fine Arts in Salt Sall Lake ake City 1 A REGISTRATION fee of 5 is required and registration is scheduled to begin at 8 am a.m. The fee covers lunch snacks and materials provided during the sessions Those in attendance will return from the workshop with information and materials designed to help community arts councils build their audiences at events The workshop will be especially useful to lo a group of Vernal residents who recently met together with the purpose of establishing an arts council in ill Vernal A group of sixteen residents several of those from various artistic groups in the area met together at the Uintah County Library to discuss with Lyn Waring Community Programming division of the Utah State Stale D Division Dision ision of Fine Arts how to establish an arts council in Vernal It was learned the arts council should effectively coordinate the various arts factions in an area to provide education and cultural enrichments to its residents The council also organizes itself to bring the arts into an area however Vernal I. I being eing enhanced with many outstanding art forms and artists need only coordinate the various artistic endeavors to become a viable arts com con community community in the state IN WORKING toward that goal of establishing an arts council in Vernal the sixteen people in attendance selected David Ahrnsbrak Teresa Murphy and Tom Torn Murphy to temporarily act as a Board of Directors in gathering information information information in in- formation and input irom persons interested in seeing a growth of the arts in Vernal The trio are also tentatively establishing an organizational ional plan in regards to the operation function and organization of the council They have announced the next meeting of the council to be Friday Oct 21 at the Uintah County Library beginning at 8 pm p.m. All persons interested in the arts die ate cordially invited to attend |
