Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Jeniel Boren Junior High Operetta To Be Given Next Week "Polished Pebbles", Bingham Junior high school's operetta, will be presented to the public in the high school auditorium at Copperton next Wednesday evening, ev-ening, February 27. Curtain time , is 8:00 p.m. The musical, consisting consist-ing of two acts was written by Otis M. Carrington. Cast members include John Arritola, Beverly Ray, Doris Ab-planalp, Ab-planalp, Janell Hansen, Joyce Olsen, Joyce Farley, Larry Mantle, Ann Diederich, Robert Peterson and a chorus of Sun-bonnet Sun-bonnet girls and Overall boys. Directing the production are LaVern J. Dickson, Mrs. S. Beck and C. O. Fingerele, faculty members. Don't miss this entertaining musical. Varied Programs Feature Week's Activities Speaking of entertainment the Bingham high students have really enjoyed a week filled with fun and laughter, as well as very interesting lectures. Thursday's Lecture . Thursday we had the first of these very interesting assemblies. assem-blies. Dr. Miller came to speak to the students in hopes of helping help-ing students to find true happiness happi-ness by developing various phases phas-es of their personalities. He seemed particularly interested in proving the value of friends, and ways m which to gain friends. He spoke of education and types of education. He pointed out that education must suit your needs in order to help you. With these words of guidance, he left the students, and it is positive that everyone gained a great deal from his wisdom and wit. Tooele High Assembly Given Here Next on the agenda was Tooele high who brought their witty assembly before the Bingham high student body and through songs, dances, instrumental numbers num-bers and skits presented their clever assembly entitled "Why I Love the Tooele High School". The students indeed enjoyed their visit and extend a bid to them to return. Monday's Program Pleases Students On Monday "Doc Dougherty's Dolls" were presented to the student body and 'midst the fast moving, entertaining show the students were introduced to puppets pup-pets of every size and style. Mr. Dougherty explained each doll in turn, how they are worked and also their history. Marionettes, hand DUDDets. and ventriloaukta or dummys were shown to the audience and amusing skits were Eortrayed by each doll. Mr. ougherty al3o explained the art of ventriloquism. All in all he and his dolls presented a very entertaining assembly which greatly pleased students. Woodbury College Speaker Professor Meais of Woodbury" College came to Bingham high school Tuesday and lectured to the senior high. Subject of his lecture was "Human Engineering" Engineer-ing" and through examples and explanations he told students how they could adapt their personalities per-sonalities from one type to an- other if you only learn to understand under-stand yourself. So if you notice any changes in personalities and attitudes you can be sure it has something . to do with these helpful suggestions. sugges-tions. Miners Tip Judge The Bingham Miners tipped Judge Memorial last Friday with a score of Bingham 35, Judge 31. Indeed this game was an exciting excit-ing one, and Bingham fans certainly cer-tainly got their money's worth when through cheers and excitement excite-ment they saw the Miners come out triumphantly, Murray at Bingham Murray plays Bingham at" Bingham Thursday night (tonight). (to-night). So everyone plan on being be-ing at the game and support the team for it is positive to be a very good exhibition.- . |
