Show DEFENSE BOND SALESJNCREASE Utah buyers put more than a million dollars into the nation's most popular security during January and kept intact this state's progressive support of Series E Defense Bonds. Clem S. Schramm, state director, direc-tor, reported purchases for the first month of 1952 totaled $1,-002,685. $1,-002,685. This is an increase of 14.8 per cent over the same month one year ago and 16.3 per cent over December 1951. "Besides this activity, redemptions redemp-tions in Utah dropped 40.2 per cent compared to last year," Mr. Schramm said. "This continued the downward trend which started start-ed early last year." Sales of Series F and G Defense De-fense Bonds brought the total of January sales in the state to $1,-209,491. $1,-209,491. While Series E sales nationally rose 6.1 per cent over January 1951, Utah's continuing climb kept well ahead with an increase more than double the average of all other states. "Holders of maturing Series E bonds are learning about automatic auto-matic extension privileges," the state director explained. "These bonds continue to increase in value and earn interest up to 20 years from the date of purchase. The extension benefit is automatic. auto-matic. The owners have only to continue holding their bonds to enjoy this advantage." |
