Show BRANCHES TO BE CONSTRUCTED. From late Washington news we hear that Senator Teller has introduced a bill authorizing the Utah & Northern railroad company to construct such branches of its road in Utah, Idaho and Montana as it may deem advisable, with the same grants and privileges and upon the same terms and conditions as are approved by the Act of March 1872 for its main line. And thus the little narrow gauge that, ten years ago was looked upon as little more than an experiment, is to become one of the principal arteries of the Rocky Mountain Region, with branch arteries conducting a vast commerce between the great centres of traffic and the remote recesses of the great west. The Utah & Northern Railroad is another great example of the foresight and indomitable enterprise of American railroad makers. |
