Show GIVE GENEROUSLY. Sister Torgeson, whose little son Francis lately underwent the trying surgical operation described elsewhere, is a most worthy woman and Latter-day Saint, and her present circumstances cause her to be in great need of pecuniary assistance. Her husband died about one year ago, leaving her with five small children, one of whom, Francis, has, for some months past, been a source of great care and expense to her. The doctors bills for the operation and subsequent treatment must of necessity be a great burden to her, and it is, in fact, out of the question for her to meet these expenses from her own resources. By the council and patronage ??? sentence unreadable ??? a subscription for her has been started and contributed to by some of our more benevolent citizens. A considerable sum still remains to be raised, however, and it is hoped that a generous response will be given to a call for assistance in behalf of one who is as worthy and needy as Sister Torgeson. Brothers Geo. (George) L. Farrell and Ezra D. Carpenter have charge of the subscription lists. Call on them and leave such a sum as you can spare. |
