Show LOCAL NEWS. Now that authentic information has been received to the effect that no site has been fixed upon for the railroad shops of the Utah & Northern, and that an investigation would be made before their location would be decided upon, the business men and citizens generally of Logan and Cache County have time to make preparations for offering to the railroad company such inducements as will insure their location here in Logan. Certainly, concerted action of some kind can be secured, by which that advantages Logan can offer to the railroad company can be presented to the officials of the road in such a light as to secure their thoughtful attention if not their favorable action and acceptance. Probably no decisive action can be taken in this matter by any of our citizens, until the officials of the road announce themselves ready to entertain propositions upon the subject, but it will do no harm to keep the matter in a state of agitation until the time for final action arrives. |
