Show BEE CULTURE.

EDITOR LEADER: - A gentleman handled me the following question, desiring to have it and the answer published in your paper:

"What was the cause of so many bees dieing last winter?"

It will be remembered that last winter commenced very early and held on very hard till late, giving the queens little or no chance to lay eggs during the winter months, and as you know that the workers live only seventy days, how could we expect any alive in the spring with the care we gave them? Those that died left plenty of honey, and not any capped brood; you will see they were not starved. If the queens cannot lay, the swarm must go under.

Yours respectfully, Geo. (George) Hibbard, Apiarist. |
