Show LOCALS Mrs. Glen Rasmussen who has been visiting for the past two weeks with her mother in Salt Lake City, returned to her hom Tuesday. Dwight W.adleigh and Max Pet erson who are employed in Price, spent the week end in Duchesne. Mrs. Sam Davis of Salt Lake City is employed in the New Palace Pal-ace Cafe in Duchesne. Miss Fern Broadhead returned home Monday from a two week visit at Zion's National Park. Mrs. Elmer White is recovering from an appendicitis operation at the Miles Hospital in Roosevelt. Calvin Croft, Principal of the Altonah School, was in Duchesne Wednesday afternoon receiving medical aid. Mrs. Leland Hair, Mrs. Donald Bench and Miss Ruth Bench left last week for Old Mexico where they expect to spend several days visiting with Mrs. Kathleen Bent-ly, Bent-ly, formerly of Duchesne. Mrs. Virginia Chase and Miss Miriam Bishop of Salt Lake City are visiting with their brother Dr. W. D. Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Chiarelli from Hanna spent several days in Duchesne. Du-chesne. Mr. Chiarelle was called to serve as a Juror but became 111 and was excused. R. A. Gillis, District Engineer of the State Road Commission spent several days in the county this week on official business. "'Joseph' Marx" of Ro6sveit transacted trans-acted business in Duchesne Monday. Mon-day. Wm. H. Case left for Salt Lake City Sunday, where he was called as a witness before the Federal Jury. Among the outside of town visitors vis-itors who are attending court in Duchesne this week are: Dallas H. Young, District Attorney of Vernal, Ray E. Dlllman of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, Charles DeMoisy of Vernal and B. L. Dart of Myton. County Recorder, Fern T. Moffitt, Moff-itt, County Assessor, C. W. Smith, County Treasurer. H. S. Liddelll and Mrs. Liddell attended the District Dist-rict County Officers Convention held in Price Tuesday. Sheriff Arzy H. Mitchell returned return-ed from Salt Lake City Wednesday, Wednes-day, bringing in Jay Lewis, whose trial on a burglary charge is being heard in the District Court here. The prisoner has been lodged for some time In the Salt Lake County jail. L. A. McGee of Price was a Duchesne Du-chesne visitor Monday. Mrs. R. M. Pope left for Vernal Ver-nal Wednesday where she will visit vis-it for some time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pope. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnston spent the week end in Heber City. Miss Elsie Johnson left for Price Tuesday, where she will visit for some time with friends and relatives. Mrs. W. D. Bishop who has been visiting in Salt Lake for some time, returned to Duchesne Sunday. Sun-day. Brig Stevenson, Merchant of Mt. Home was transacting business in town Thursday. G. V. Billings left for Salt Lake City Thursday to be in attendance at the meeting scheduled there in regard to R. F. C. and other work of interest to Duchesne County. - Delbert Broadhead and Harold McDonald left last week for San Francisco by train with a load of cattle. At P. T. A. last week, it was unanimously decided that both school and P. T. A. would help with establishing an ice skating rink for the winter, in the City Park. Some of our Relief Committee members and Commissioners have also gone to Salt Lake to attend a Relief Committee to be held there. |
