Show Complaints Received By E. Tilden Mattox Public co-operation in securing compliances with NRA Codes of Fair Competition, was urged in a statement issued today by Mr. E. Tilden Mattox, District Compliance Compli-ance Director. According to Mattox, who was recently appointed by General Hugh S. Johnson; it is the duty of any person who has knowledge of facts that might constitute a code violation Co report the same at once. Many people, Mattox states, have been deterred from making complaints because of the fear that their names might be divulged. divulg-ed. There Is no basis for such fear, he says, as he has been instructed in-structed to keep the names of complaints strictly confidential. Consequently, employees who make bona fide complaints against establishments es-tablishments by which they are employed will not be jeopardizing their jobs. As District Compliance Director, Direct-or, Mattox is in charge of code compliance enforcement for Northern North-ern California, Nevada and Utah. Many complaints have already been received at his office, located in Room 306, U. S. Custom House, San Francisco, and are being given prompt attention. A form for making complaints is available at any post office, and should be used in reporting violation. vio-lation. Complaints against establishments establish-ments for which national code has yet been approved, but which have signed the President's Re-employment Agreement, are still being handled by the local NRA Compliance Com-pliance Boards for the communities communit-ies in which such establishments are conducting their businesses. |
