Show LOCAL NEWS . . The friends of Mike Alt were agreeably surprised Saturday to i see him in Duchesne again though -(it was for a brief visit only. He ' has decided to locate in Cedar City and resume his law practice. For several years since leaving ,' Duchesne, Mr. Alt and his family have - resided in Topeka, Kansas, where he was connected with the Columbia Trust; Co. At the present pres-ent time, Mrs. Alt and son Mickey arc visiting with her sister,' Mrs. .Paul Billings,. a former resident of I Duchesne. j The following young men of the I younger set spent Saturday in I Heber and attended the dance at I Park City: Douglas Smith, Bob j Brown, Rodell ! Owens, George j Kohl, Jr., and Mark McGuire. I o j The Saturday Bridge Club met ; at Mrs. Feller's Saturday with the i following members and guests present: Mrs. A. M. Murdock, Mrs. Grant Murdock, Mrs. R. G. Porter, Mrs. Mary Connor, Mrs. Arthur Brown, ' Mrs. Arthur Orr, Mrs. Charles Selch, Mrs. Ernest Crocker, Mrs. R M. Pope, Mrs. Richard Kroupa, Miss Martha Page Porter. Mrs. Arthur Orr received high score. Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Henderson Hender-son of Myton' were Duchesne visitors Thursday. -c Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Kohl left for Salt Lake City Monday with George, Jr., and Rodell Owens who will attend Westminister College' this winter. j -o- j Mrs. Charles Sands and daugh-, ter from Ouray are visiting Mrs. j her daughter the Duchesne Barton. Mrs. Hazel Kroupa and family, accompanied by her father, A. M. Murdock left for Salt Lake City Monday morning where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kirkham, another daughter of Mr. Murdock. Mr. and Mrs. V. T. Rice and daughter, Helen, were breakfast guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Orr Tuesday morning. morn-ing. They were enroute to Salt Lake where Miss Rice will enter high school. o Mr. and Mrs. Homer S. Llddell are now occupying the George S. Bowers home. Mrs. Bowers will leave for Greenville, Tennessee in the near future". , j o ( Mrs. Richard Kroupa and children, child-ren, Richard, Hugh and Margery have returned to their home in Fresno. California, after a two weeks visit at the A. M. Murdock home. Mrs. Krdiipa is a daughter of Mr. Murdock. o The St. Paul's Guild entertained at a delightful picnic supper in honor of Mrs. George S. Bowers Thursday evening. rt Lutellus Burdick of Bluebell is spending a few days in Duchesne visiting with relatives. A very enjoyable luncheon was served Friday, by Mrs. R. M. Pope and Mrs. Ernest Crocker in honor of Mrs. Lloyd Pope and Mrs. J. R. Pope. Covers were laid for the guests of honor and the Masdames Margaret Mar-garet Porter, Nellie Feller, Mary Connor, Hazel Orr, Judy Llddell, A. M. Murdock, Grant Murdock, Ethel Schonlan, Bessie Kohl, Mary Fisher, Lettie Brown, Joe Brown, J. P. Madsen, Melvin Poul-son, Poul-son, Helen Hollenbeck, Hildur Johnstun, Nellie Muir, Hazel Kroupa, E. W. Schonian, and Mildred Mil-dred Stephenson, Miss Emily Madsen, Miss Elsie Johnson, Mrs. Lee Merkeley and Mis3 Martha Page Porter. Bridge followed the luncheon with Mrs. John Madsen winning high score. |
