Show SOOT. SURE AT TEACHERS' INSTITUTE HERE Teachers Assemble For Instruction Instruct-ion Before Commencing Year's Work. I I i Duchesne County teacher's in-J stitute was held in Duchesne, Friday, Sept. Sth, with State Superintendent Charles H. Skid-' r more and assistant Superinten dent H, Warren Taylor present. ' There was almost a full attend-! ance of the teachers of the county. I The meeting convened at 2, o'clock P. M. with community! singing led by Wm. H. Burgener.j Instrumental selections were rendered ren-dered by Anna Laura Staples,' and Rulon A. Jones. Addresses were given by Superintendent j Skidmore, and assistant Superintendent Super-intendent Tn.vlor. Following the institute the Duchesne Du-chesne Teachers' Association held a meeting, at which the officers from last year were reelected for the ensuing term. There were also special meetings meet-ings held for departmental work, with Superintendent Skidmore addressing ad-dressing the teachers for the 7th to 12th grades, and assistant Taylor addressing those for the i. 1st to 6th grades. Saturday at 9:00 a, m. a Prin cipal's convention was held with all principals of the county present pres-ent but one. In the afternoon, Faculty meetings were held at the various schools throughout the County. Though enrollments are not yet complete, indications are that there will be higher attendance in the County schools this year than last year. School busses are filled fill-ed to capacity in most cases, and it is found necessary to either enlarge en-large equipment, or reroute students stu-dents in many instances. |
