Show OPENING SCHOOL MEETING IS HELD Monday at 9:00 A. M. the Junior High and High School students stu-dents met In the hall with their principal and teachers. Mr. Tobler, the principal opened the meeting and the following program was rendered. "America", sang by the students stu-dents and led by J. R. Jones. Invocation by Mr. Fescher. Piano solo by J. R. Jones. These numbers were followed by the introduction of the teachers teach-ers by Mr. Tobler as follows: Miss Davis, supervisor of English, Eng-lish, Domestic Svience and Domestic Do-mestic Art. Miss Davis reported a very good summer and expressed express-ed hopes for an excellent year. Mr. Fescner, supervisor of Art. Since the United States is having a "New Deal", Mr. Fescher predicted pre-dicted a new deal in the school and hoped all would work toward that end. Mr. Rollins, supervisor of Shop and Mathematics. Mr. Tobler referred re-ferred to Mr. Robins as "The Man of the Iron Works". Mr. Robbins, too, stressed the "New Deal', new teachers, and good school, Mr. Jones, supervisor of both Band and Orchestra and also singing. Mr. Jones' slogan is. "Pull together" and he predicted the best school year Duchesne High has ever experienced. I Mr. Tobler stressed the clean building and asked the students to meet to effect a Student Eody organization and to work together to-gether for the good of the school. This was followed by a duet by Mr. and Mrs. Jones and a reading by Miss Davis. Mr. Tobler then assigned the students to. their rooms in the old building after reading the program. pro-gram. English will be required In all grades, Albegra in some and Social Problems in the 11th and 12th grades. The Registration Fee Is $5.00. No books will be given! to the students " until they are i paid for. |
