Show INDIAN DITCH RIDER SUCCUMBS IN SALT LAKE CITY Edward Montgomery, 45, of Myton, My-ton, ditch iridcr on the Indian canal, succumbed to a heart ailment ail-ment in the L.DJ3. hospital in Salt I Lake City Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. I 'lie had been in the hospital since March 29. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted in the Myton L.D.S. chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. under the direction di-rection of the Roy A. Schonian mortuary with Bishop Perry of Myton conducting the services. Burial will be In, the Roosevelt cemetery. A son of Launcelot B. and Eliza Kettle Montgomery, Mr. Montgomery Mont-gomery was born in Ridgeway, Colo , August 26, 1896. He lived there until the family moved to Myton in 1912. For a short time he worked with Frank White, construction con-struction contractor, in Myton and Rorsevelt and at farming. For the past 17 years he has been ditch ridor for the U. S. Indian Irrigation Irriga-tion Service, stationed at Myton. He married Nora McFee August 27, 1919, the ceremony taking place in Duchesne and the couple have maintained their home in Myton ever since. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. John Richins of Arcadia and Hope Montgomery, Myton; a son, Donald Don-ald Montgomery, Myton; two half-brothers, half-brothers, W. R. Harris, Myton and John T. Harris, Montrose, Colo. Mr. Mcntgomery served for a short time in the army in World War 1, but was discharged be cause of physical disability shortly short-ly after his enlistment. Friends may call at the Roy A. Schonian mortuary in Duchesne Friday and at the Myton L.D.S. ward chapel Saturday from noon until funeral time. |
