Show DORIS ROYER HEARS FROM HUSTCANLV LN WAR THEATRE Mrs. Doris Rasmussen Royer this week received an airmail letter from her husband, Ccrp. Elwood A. Royer from "somewhere "some-where in the war zone," supposedly supposed-ly the Philippines, since the postage post-age stamps were Philippine stamps. The letter is postmarked San Francisco. Mr. Royer does not mention the war, of course, tut does tell of a series of mishaps which have befallen be-fallen him. He says he is going to take out an insurance policy '. . . for one never knews just what will happen and when. I thought that I was too onery to get sick but I did get Malaria fever and it had me in the hospital for about ten days Then to do it up right I got boils under my 'arm and that gave me a bad time fcr a few days and I just get over them all right and I drive a couple of fellows in to town and on the way home I run over a bank and turn the jeep over on me and it kind of put me out of crder for a few days, but now I am all right and it looks like my had luck is over with for a while." He says it is beautiful there, but wishes the "mess" were over. |
