Show Accidents Reported By Highway Patrol Three accidents were reported in District L by the Utah Highway Patrol Pa-trol during the past week. The first occurred on August 13, at 2:45 p.m. about 6 miles west of Green River on 1-70. Issac L. Lacy, 62, of Lindsay, Oklahoma, reported re-ported to investigating officer Wendell Weber that the rear tire on his 1972 BMW motorcycle went flat. Before he could bring the machine to a complete stop, it turned over onto its side. Both Mr. Lacy, and his wife, Elsie May Lacy, 59, suffered suf-fered minor bruises in the incident. Damage listed to the motorcycle was $100. There were no citations. An accident 7 miles north of Mexican Hat on August 14, seriously injured in-jured two occupants of a 1970 Maverick. The accident ac-cident occurred when Masaharu Nakatsu of Massachusetts lost control con-trol of his car on wet pavement, went off the roadway on the right side; pulled back onto the road and then went off the left side, down a wash and rolled over. He and his wife, Yoshiko Nakatsu were taken to Monument Valley Hospital Hos-pital for treatment. Mr. Nakatsu was cited for failure to keep his vehicle ve-hicle under control. On August 17, Tony Lee Reagon, 19, of Moab was involved in a one car accident 15 miles south of Moab on Highway High-way 163. Reagon was northbound and attempted to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed; he lost control of his 1972 Ford pickup and crossed into the southbound lane, hitting a guard rail on the west side of the road. He followed the guard rail for about 40 feet then went off the road and over an embankment coming to rest on his wheels facing northwest. He was cited by Trooper Ron Wood for no Utah registration, failure to keep his vehicle under control, and speed too fast for existing conditions. condi-tions. Damage to the truck was estimated at $3,500. |
