Show Hearings Slated in March On Arches Natl. Park Bill Sen. Frank E. Moss, D-Utah, D-Utah, this week announced that hearings will be held in Utah in mid-March on two bills he has introduced to make the expanded Arches Arch-es and" Capitol Reef National Nation-al Monuments into national parks. "The exact dates will be announced soon. Hearing? will be held in Moab and Richfield and perhaps in Salt Lake City," Sen. Moss stated. "Sen. Alan Bible, chairman chair-man of the Parks and Recreation Rec-reation Subcommittee informed infor-med me to day of the hearing hear-ing schedule. Sen. Bible also said he hopes to attend trie hearings." Sen. Moss called for the hearings immediately upon notification of the proposal to expand the monumcnis and then introduced his bills to assure that such hearings would be held. ' "I have repeatedly said that the people most directly direct-ly involved by this action must be given the opportunity opportun-ity to be heard at official Congressional hearings so their statements can be pre- sented before the Interior Committee and the entire Senate," Moss said. |
