Show Hearing on Hospif al Improvement Plan to he Held Next Tuesday Moab residents will have a chance to voice their support sup-port or opposition to some proposed improvements to Allen Al-len Memorial Hospital at a hearing to be held on Feb. 24, in the City Council chambers cham-bers at the courthouse. The meeting, called by Grand County Commissioners, will begin at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be to acquaint ac-quaint citizens with the problems pro-blems that are faced by the the hospital staff in providing provid-ing repairs without additional addition-al county funds. If approved the hospital budget would be amended to provide an additional ?25,OCO for repairs re-pairs and interior decorating. decorat-ing. This money would be borrowed for the improvements improve-ments this year and would be paid back through a 14 increase in the mill levy next year. Proposed improvements at the county-owned hospital would include a major overhaul over-haul of the building, including includ-ing the laying of carpets on all floors except the operating operat-ing rooms. New lighting fixtures fix-tures will be installed in each room to facilitate examination ex-amination of a patient. In the lighting panels will also be housed a base for vacuum vac-uum plug-ins, oxygen, radio-TV radio-TV outlets, and buzzers for calling assistance. In addition to the new lighting and carpeting, each room would have paneled walls, which require little or no upkeep, and draperies. The present setup furnishes each room with only Venetian Vene-tian blinds. Persons who have not done so, are invited to visit the hospital and view the model room which has been redecorated. By seeing what (has been done, and what has not, persons who wish to attend the hearing can see just what the staff at the hospital wishes to do. |
