Show "Not all social service functions func-tions are in the building. The new social service building does serve as administrative headquarters for all divisions and offices." Dr. Anthony W. Mitchell, Department Executive Execu-tive Director, explained. Housed in the new building will be administrative operations opera-tions for the Divisions of Corrections, Aging, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs, Indian Affairs, Family Services Ser-vices and Health. Offices include in-clude Constituent Services, Management Audit, Assistance Assis-tance Payments, Food Stamps, Quality Control. Veterans Vet-erans Affairs, Recovery Services, Ser-vices, Training and Development, Develop-ment, Community Operations, Administrative Services, Planning and Research and Medical Services. "The new building should make communications simpler. sim-pler. In the past social services ser-vices agencies were scattered throughout the valley making it difficult to hold meetings. By housing everyone in the same building we can improve the process and hopefully improve service to the people," peo-ple," Mitchell said. He noted that very few direct client services will be provided out of the new building. Clients involved in Assistance Payments, Family Fam-ily Services, Alcohol and Drugs, Mental Health, and Adult Probation and Parole should continue visiting their caseworkers at their regular locations. "However, individuals needing birth and death certificates cer-tificates will be served out of the new facility. The Bureau of Vital Statistics is housed on ' the first floor. Veterans, filing claims or seeking help with military reviews, should contact con-tact the Office of Veteran's Affairs, located on the second floor. The Office of Recovery Services is also housed in the new building. Clients needing to see attorneys, who are from the Salt Lake Area will be served from the new facility. The Department of Social Services Personnel Office Of-fice is also located in the new facility. Mitchell said it will still be e several weeks before all the bugs will be worked out of the building. "We hope the public will bear with us. We should have directional signs, elevators eleva-tors working well in a short time," he emphasized. |
