Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Silliman drove to Grand Junction to pick up their daughter Jan, who had flown in from Longview, Washington for the holidays hol-idays at home. Miss Silliman Sil-liman teaches the third grade at Longview, and will be home until after New Years. From Colorado. . . Mr. and Mrs. Ike Hubbard, Hub-bard, Glade Park, Colo., spent Christmas with their daughter and family, fam-ily, the Blaine Sillimans. Home From College. . . Home from college for the holidays are Miss Susan Nielson, Robyn and Rena Baggs, Mary Ann Hunt, Conra Webber, Web-ber, Monte Curtis, Bert May, Randy Spadafora, Steve Raft and Kim Wall. Kim's mother, Mrs. Verna Jean Hubbs, might be considered one of the town's young people away at college and home for the holidays, also. She is attending Beauty College in Grand Junction, and returned home to enjoy the Christmas vacation with her son. Returns Home. . . David Engleman returned re-turned Sunday from a month's trip back to their home in the midwest. mid-west. Work on his KOA campground will commence com-mence soon after the first of the year. Overnight Guests. . . Mr. and Mrs. John Folsom had Mr. and Mrs. Gene Southers of Fruita as overnight Christmas guests. Back Home. . . Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones returned home the 19th from a trip to Salt Lake City, where Charles Char-les had gone for a routine rout-ine checkup following an operation last May. Visits Friends. . . Mr. and Mrs. RoyEk-ker RoyEk-ker and children Christine, Christ-ine, Phillip and Daniel, visited friends and relatives rela-tives during the holidays. holi-days. Released From Navy. . . Dale Kaufman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Verne Kaufman, has just been released from the Navy, having spent the last year in and aound Viet Nam. He is living in Eureka, California and attending school at the College of the Redwoods. The Kaufman family lived liv-ed here several years during the early Missile Base time. Christmas Guests. . . Mr. and Mrs. Alma Scovill had their family all together for the holiday. holi-day. Mr. and Mrs. Don Winters with Pamela Jo and Dawnette came over from Moab; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Scovill, Chris and Ryan from Salt Lake City, and her parents and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Kaufman and Dale from California. Lloyd Scovill and son Troy from Grand Jet.; Mrs. Carolyn Scovill and Lynette, together with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Stewart came from Moab; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jo Scovill and son Joshua from Grand Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Van Ray Scovill from Green River. Some of the out-of-town visitors spent a day or two visiting, with the group gathered at Alma and Leona's for Christmas day. Green River Paper. . . Mrs. Pparl Baker drove to Castle Dale where she visited the Leader- Emery County Progress office, with a view to buying back the Leader for a Green River Riv-er paper. Kimball Larson Lar-son and Pete Jones have recently bought the paper pap-er at Castle Dale, and have made considerable improvement in it. They talked rather favorably about selling the Leader, Lead-er, which would give Green River its own paper once again. Moved to Medicenter. . . Mrs. James Chrono-poulos Chrono-poulos has been moved from St. Marys Hospital to Medicenter in Grand Junction, which is her mailing address now. Zip is still 81501. She can get around in a wheel chair now, but will be hospitalized for some time to come. Mrs. Chronopoulos suffered a severe fall a couple of weeks ago, breaking her hip. On Injured List. . . Jay Ekker and Rey-Lloyd Rey-Lloyd Ilatt are both on the injured list. Jay sprained his ankle and ReyLloyd's horse fell with him, wrenching his knee. Holiday Visitors. . . Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Wilson had as guests their daughter and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Isa-dore Isa-dore Million, Morris, Gilbert, Aaron, Elizabeth Eliza-beth and Rebekah from Boulder, Colo. Aaron brought the boa constrictor, con-strictor, also, and he participated in the family fam-ily fun. Mr. Abe Million from Los Angeles flew into Salt Lake City, then chartered a small plane to fly to Grand Junction, where he was picked up. He returned home after a day or two, but the Boulder residents spent the entire vacation period per-iod here. |
