Show City Delays Decision on Garbage Haul The controversial garbage ri'snosal problem was discussed discus-sed by the City Council in its regular meet'ng Tuesday night, and final dispoiton of the matter was slated for a special meeting to be held Tuesday, May .13. 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers. At that time, Councilman Robert Migliori and Canyon-lands Canyon-lands Sanitation owner Jake Hatzenbuehler will both present pre-sent detailed cost figures to the council for find decision. If cost comparisons indicate that it would be favorable for the city to take over garbage gar-bage pickup, the Council will do so, said Mayor WinforJ Bunce. iDuring the meeting, tite Ding Abuse Study and Advisory Ad-visory Committee presented a condensed report of nine weeks of study to the jointly assembled City Council and County Commission. Their report, given by Chairman William McDougald, was accepted, ac-cepted, ar.d the ccmnn'ttee was dissolved with the thanks of the two groups. Said Mayor May-or Pjunce, the appointment cf a permianent Central Coordination Co-ordination Committee by the Commission is the next step on the drug problem. Members of the committee reporting Tuesday included Mr. McDougald, Dixie Barker, iMary Byrd, Horold Jacobs and Glen R'.chcson. A report cn progress of the new rest rooms, swimming pool cleanup and other projects pro-jects at the City Park were also heard during the meeting. |
