Show Clinic Will Demonstrate Use of Disaster Hospital Officials from the Utah State Division of Health and the Public Health Service in Denver. Colorado were in Moab Tuesday to discuss plans for a clinic demonstration demon-stration for setting up and use of the Package Disaster Hospital stored in Grand County. The clinic will be conducted Thurs., April 9. at 2 and 7 p.m. The same meeting will be held during each session which will allow persons un able to attend one, a chance (to attend the other. In charge of the demonstrations will be Dr. Paul Mayberry, custodian of the local PDH. and medical personnel who have been appointed chiefs of the various hospital sections. sec-tions. They Will give an orientation or-ientation in .their areas of interest. The program is designed to tteach and aquaint the medical medi-cal personnel with the type of equipment they would have available for use in the event of a large scale emergency. The hospitals are 230 bed- units that are packed pack-ed in boxes -and stored throughout thle United States. They are Federal property loaned to States for emergency em-ergency community hospital use. Each PDH contains a 30 day supply of essential medical med-ical supplies and associated equipment. Sufficient materials mater-ials are included to establish estab-lish and operate the following follow-ing sections: admitting and sorting: surgery, X-ray clinical clin-ical laboratory; pharmacy; and central supply. Basic dental equipment is also provided. The general public is invited in-vited to attend the meeting, with members of the Interact Inter-act club helping in the loading, load-ing, unloading and packing! of the equipment. Hospital administrator, Kay Hawks has indicated that he will be cooperating fully with .the demonstration and that ail possible members of the hospital staff will have a chance to attend the meeting, |
