Show Red Cross Drive in Grand County Being Organized March is the month set aisfide for the American Red Cross Fund Drive for funds to support their work in the community. 'Mrs, Lulu Delonig, chairman chair-man for the Grand County Chapter is busy with her fellow fel-low volunteers organizing the fund .campaign. Operating under its congres-siional congres-siional charter, the Red Cross has the responsibility as a medium of communication between be-tween the people of the Unit-. Unit-. ed . States and their armed forces. In accomplishing this we are committed to provide the, military authorities with -factual reports to assist them in making decisions concerning concern-ing servicemen and their families. fam-ilies. At the present funds are needed to keep this program -in action. The family may report an emergency to the local Red Cross Chapter. The chapter will instruct or assist the family fam-ily to telephone or telegraph formation about 'the emergency em-ergency to the serviceman whenever feasible to enable him ,'to apply 'for emergency leave. In addition when ail emergency involves a member mem-ber of the serviceman's immediate im-mediate .family the chapter Willi verify the facts and submit sub-mit a report to the Red Cross field director at the serviceman's service-man's station for decision by the man's commanding officer. offi-cer. McDougald, vol-, unteer chairmani of Service to Military Families urges everyone to make a contribution contri-bution at this time to the Orand County Chapter, to help keep this line of communication commu-nication in action. During the past four years she states tot she has assisted servicemen service-men with emergency situations situa-tions of serious illness, death, or birth involving emergency Also, she has assisted families fam-ilies who have for some reason rea-son or another had communications commu-nications by letter broken thus enabling the families to receive health - and welfare conditions, of servicemen. Mrs. McDougald states that she welcomes 'any, questions and will be happy to provide information regarding this service.
