After a thorough discussion of the matter, the club decided to recommend rec-ommend to the county commissioners that the" erection of a piling bridge at this point be made a relief work project. 60 YEARS AGO The tenth legislature of the state of Utah opened op-ened for business. Senator Sen-ator Henry Gardner was elected preisdent of the Senate, and Representative Representa-tive Wm. J. Seely of Emery Em-ery County was elected speaker of the house. The figures for the uranium and vanadium ores during' 1912 had not veen very satisfactorily reported to the United States Geological Survey, Sur-vey, and the output had therefore boon partly estimated es-timated by Frank L. Hess from various data in his possession. The shipment ship-ment of uranium and vanadium van-adium ores during 1912 was in the hands of about a dozen persons and firms, and as in previous years the ores had come mostly from southwestern southwest-ern Colorado, with a smaller production from southeastern Utah, between be-tween the San Rafael Swell and the Colorado line. The attendance at the road meeting was not large enough to get the universal opinion regarding re-garding the waging of a campaign to induce the American Automobile Association to map the Midland Trail down the Grand River by way of Moab.
