Show Betty Jacobs Takes Arizona Job Members of the Moab Chamber of Commerce Tuesday heard the resignation res-ignation of secretary of the organization, Betty Jacobs. President Keith Peterson announced at the meeting that Mrs. Jacobs is leaving Moab to take a job as manager of the Yavapai Lodge on the south rim of Grand Canyon. Mrs. Jacobs began her career with the Chamber 13 years ago under the presidency of Sam Taylor. Tay-lor. During her time in the position she has seen the growth of Moab from a community relying almost entirely on the mining industry to one in which tourism plays a large part. In making the announcement of her move, Mrs. Jacobs said, "It is with regret that I leave Moab and all the friends I have here. I have really enjoyed my work and much has been accomplished during the past 13 years." President Peterson noted that the Chamber will now be seeking a replacement for Mrs. Jacobs and anyone who wishes to apply for the position should contact him for an interview. The job, which is open to a man or woman, requires some typing and an ability ab-ility to meet the public. The job is five days a week. The person selected select-ed to succeed Mrs. Jacobs Jac-obs will be voted on by members of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Jacobs Jac-obs will be leaving as of February 1. Betty Jacobs |
