Show Hanksville News Notes . . . Investigation is still continuing continu-ing into the death of 32 year old Richfield woman, Lucy V. Gonzalez, who's body was found Saturday, July 10, at Gypsum Seep, 30 miles north west of Hanksville, near the Baker Ranch. Jeff Fairbanks, a tour guide from the Rim Rock, and his group found the body around noon and notified Wayne County Sheriff, Dee Lyle Johnson. Earlier in the week Mrs. Gonzalez' husband, Clyde, of Richfield, had notified the Sevier County Sheriffs office in Richfield that his wife and six year old daughter were missing. He later notified the law officers that the daughter had been located with friends. From questioning friends and acquaintances it was learned she was seen in Richfield Wednesday, that she'd been in Wellington, Carbon County, Utah on the previous Thursday. Her '72 dark green Ford Maverick (license plate NJ-154) is still missing, although two sets of car keys were found in her purse which was near the body. The State Medical examiner said Mrs. Gonzalez died of a combination of heart disease, and exposure to the extreme heat. The autopsy report issued Monday stated there was "no homocide by force". The big question now is how did the woman get in such a remote area? Tracks in the area indicate they could be the victims but not as yet confirmed. Assisting in the investigation with Sheriff Johnson was officers of the Sevier County Sheriffs office and Salt Lake County officials, Pete Hay-ward Hay-ward and Dean Carr.
