Show Drop CAP Program, Says Commission The County Commission moved Monday to opt out of the Community Action Program Pro-gram (CAP). Commissioner A. Dan Holy-oak Holy-oak made the motion, "In keeping with the wishes of the Grand County CAP Board," with Commissioner Harvey Merrell seconding and Commissioner Com-missioner D. L. Taylor voting aye. The motion was to adopt a resolution of intent to revoke the Community Action Agency and opt out of the CAP program pro-gram in Grand Co. Following i this initial move the regional i CAP headquarters in Denver will be advised. Follwoing federal regulations, regula-tions, they will be allowed a 30-day period and a public hearing must be held before the program is officially dropped in the county. The main concern voiced was for the Headstart preschool pre-school program for lower income children. Since this program was operating in Grand County before the CAP program came into the county, i and since it is operated other j places where CAP is not 3 involved, it was felt the program could be continued under other sponsorship. |
