Show Mealy injured in car wreck Moab resident John Mealy suffered a broken pelvis in a two-car accident five miles north of Moab on Highway 163 last Saturday at 9:10 a.m. Investigating Sheriff's Deputy Lynn Izatt reported report-ed that Mealy apparently fell asleep at the wheel while southbound on 163 and his 1964 Chevrolet pickup crossed the center line and struck a 1975 Ford LTD driven by Wayne S. Cook of Monticello. Mealy's truck then crossed the road off the right shoulder and rolled once, ejecting Mealy. Eva Cook nnd Joyce Cook, passengers in the Ford, were also injured in the collision. Mealy and Joyce Cook were transported trans-ported to Allen Memorial by Grand County Ambulance. Ambu-lance. Cook was treated and released. Mealy was pronounced to be in satisfactory condition Monday afternoon. Deputy Izatt stated that both vehicles were total losses. Mealy was cited for driving left of center. |
