Show Seven Moab Men Inducted Into Service Seven young men will be inducted into the Army on August 5, to fill the quota for the county draft lottery. The boys selected include six who were chosen cho-sen on the lottery system, and one volunteer. All persons called up for the month of August were born between 1944 and 1950, had lottery numbers num-bers between 1 and 190, and classified as 1-A. Included in the group are Ronald J. Holyoak, Kenneth Wr. Hutchinson, William H. Hines, Jack A. Marshall, Michael E. Vas-quez, Vas-quez, and Gregory Gordon. Gord-on. Oren D. Beeson volunteered volun-teered to be inducted along al-ong with the group. On August 6, eight Moab Mo-ab men will be examined for induction on the call for those born in 1951 with lottery numbers from 1 to 100. Included to be examined are Peter G. Harrison, Kenny W. Nelson, Nel-son, Paul A. Graves, Steven Stev-en G. McCandless, Gary D. Eddy, Royal A. Holter, Jr., Daniel R. Sanchez, and Ronald Sissom. Those selected will not enter the service until after Jan. 1, 1971. According to Winford Bunce, executive secretary for the Selective Service Board, the examination does not necessarily mean that all eight will be required re-quired to enter the service. Exemptions for college and health handicaps will be taken into consideration considera-tion during the examination. examina-tion. Currently on the Selective Selec-tive Service Board for Grand County are O. E. Boulden, serving as chairman; chair-man; K. E. McDougald, Don Baldwin and Bill B. Meador. Atty. Harry Snow is the appeal agent, and Dr. Paul Mayberry is the medical advisor along with Bunce, who serves as Executive Secretary. |
