Show Alias Minerals An nounces Shifts Of Personnel in He adqunrfers Move R. F. Hollis, President of Atlas Corporation's Minerals Min-erals Division, announced Wednesday several changes chang-es and promotions in staff and management posi-' tions. Mr. Hollis stated, that these personnel changes combined with the transfer trans-fer of Atlas Minerals headquarters head-quarters from Salt Lake City to Denver was part of the company's long-range long-range plans to broaden its activities in the minerals industry. , Paul "Ron" Bethurum was named manager l Utah Operations. Mr. Bethurum Be-thurum is a graduate of Colorado School of Mines-and Mines-and was previously District Dis-trict Manager for Susquehanna Susque-hanna Western's operations operat-ions at Edgemont, South Dakota. Mr. Bethurum will have charge of all mining . and milling operations in Utah. Wayne M. Jensen was named General Superintendent Superin-tendent of the Moab mill, replacing Ted F. Izzo who recently resigned. Mr. Jensen Jen-sen was formerly a production pro-duction supervisor for the Climax Molybdenum Co., Climax, Colo. Albert E. Dearth was named Vice President of Exploration. Mr. Dearth is a graduate of the University Univer-sity of Colorado and previously pre-viously held the position of Chief Geologist. He has been with Atlas since its acquisition of Texas Zinc Minerals in 1963. Thomas L. Wilson was promoted to Chief Geologist Geolo-gist succeeding Mr. Dearth. Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Montana School of Mines and has been associated asso-ciated with the company since October of 1966. He was previously employed1 as Assistant Mine Superintendent Super-intendent with Texas Gulf Sulphur Company's Car Creek operations. Kent L. Olsen was named nam-ed 'Assistant to the President. Pres-ident. Mr. Olsen is a graduate gra-duate of the University of Utah and has been with the company since May of 1959. He previously held the position of Director of Industrial Relations. Jay Sorensen was named nam-ed to the newly created position of controller. Mr. Sorensen has been . with the company since July of 1957 and previously held positions of Mine Office Manager and Office Manager Man-ager of the Moab mill. George M. Petersen was appointed Office Manager of the Moab Mill succeeding succeed-ing Mr. Sorensen. Mr. Pet- ersen joined the company in 1959, and previously hold the position of Senior Accountant. Ernest Carlucci was promoted to Plant Metallurgist Metal-lurgist for the Moab mill. Mr. Carlucci is a graduate of Colorado College. He joined the company in October Oc-tober of 1958 as an Analytical Anal-ytical Chemist and prev-viously prev-viously held' the position of Research Metallurgist. Mr. Hollis further stated that Mr. Dearth, Mr. Olsen, Ol-sen, and Mr. Sorensen would be transferred from Moab "to the Denver office sometime this summer. |
