Show MINISTER OBJECTS TO NOISY TOWN CLOCK SUFF1ELD. Conn. June 1 According ; to a statement by tha Rev. Daniel R. 1 Kennedy, pa all or of the First Congregational Congrega-tional church of thla place, the church will be without a minister If tha town clock 1s allowed to strike. The clock, a memorial gift of Mrs Cornelia D. Newton, New-ton, Is plsced in tha steeple of the church, snd for tha Isst month haa not been striking the hours. Somebody found that the clock waa not striking on orders of the Rev. Mr Kennedy, as It disturbed the aleep of his two small children. Forthwith a communication waa sent to lle church committee asking that the striking apparatus ap-paratus he wound up. If thla la done, the Rev. Mr. Kennedy eays. ha will resign. re-sign. He goes awav for his vacation this month and developments are as-pec as-pec ted on his return. |
