Developments added aa much to the tonnage aa waa taken out. On the Bullion Beck Champion Mining Min-ing company's property developmenta during the year were not aattsfactory. The smelter st Midvale. Utah, operated continuously throughout the year. Th baahouse continued to give perfect satisfaction, sat-isfaction, and no damage haa been done to the farmera or any trouble experienced with them. The I'nlted States T.lme company shipped 7.431 tons of lime rock from the quarry at Topllff. Utah. At the mine of Mammoth company extraction ex-traction of ore amounted to 130.441 tone. On account of the large accumulation of alllcloui ores tbe mine waa shut down In August, but Is being held In reserve aa a source of slllclous flux whea stocks on band ara reduced. A email tannage of high grade ore was extracted from the Buchanan mine, bin falling to open up any larger ore bod lea, the mine waa ehut down. The Banner mine of the Keedlea Mining Min-ing and Smelting company haa opened up a considerable tonnage of ore. The ore haa, so far. been followed to a depth of 43 feet, ahowlng no diminution in the strength of the vein and the quality of tbe ore. The Champion mine haa opened up a moderate amount of ore. some of It of low grade, but the bulk of commercial value. Early In the year the Eureka Pall-eade Pall-eade railroad waa put out of commission by hesvv wsshouts which csused the Richmond-Eureka mines to be completely shut oft from the smelters snd the ex-traction ex-traction of oree had to be discontinued. The railroad haa been aold under foreclosure fore-closure proceedings, and It la hoped will be repaired during thla year, wheretrpon the Richmund-Kureka mlnea will reeume operatlona. At the Real del Monte y Pachura mines In Mexico the power troublea referred re-ferred to In the last annual report continued con-tinued throughout the greater part of the year. Production had to be curtailed The effect on the operation of the mlnea. which required lieavy pumping and deep hoisting, waa very damaging, and the mills when operating at all did ao at a reduced tonnage and Increased cost.
