All bonded dealers must have their licenses prominently dis-i dis-i plaved at their place of business, and they must have a place of business and not be "curb stone" brokers. Field inspectors are used to check licenses and bonds, and to investigate reports of illegal and fraudulent transactions. So far very few of the charges are brought to court, most of them briny adjusted by the inspectors without legal action. "The 'educational' period is now over," Chairman Healy said, "and enforcement is, being tightened tight-ened by the Motor Vehicle Dealers Deal-ers Administration Division of . the State Tax Commission, headed head-ed by Arnold M. Demand for drivers' licenses has increased 50 in the rural communities in the past few months, since a Salt Lake City judge hits been pa-ssing out jail sentences to drivers without them, it was reported. The report further stated that approximately 40 of the total population of the state is now operating some type of motor ve-hcile, ve-hcile, but that some 50 of the people are licensed. Mr. Healy said that the 10 of licensed non drivers is probably made up of older people holding "grandad-dy" "grandad-dy" licenses, which do not re-quire re-quire periodical renewal. These estimates were based on the fact that 205,000 drivers' and chauffeurs' licenses are now valid, val-id, and 200,111 motor vehicles are licensed as of April 30 of this year, which includes 37,000 trucks, 900 motorcycles and 383 busses. |
