The fact that Edna May's Intended husband, Mr. Lewlsohn, is a has M Roynold's Newspaper to publish a column article, headed with the question, "Will Edna May Become a Jewess?" The tone of the article indicates that Miss May Is to change- her faith and quotes the quatrain Including the lines: "Shall I give up the friend we valued and tried If he kneel, not before the same altar with me?" Mias May, it says, used this in replying reply-ing to a friend's inquiry as to whether the fact that Mr. Lewlsohn was a Jew would prevent her becoming his wife. The newspaper says that Mr. Lewis-ohn's Lewis-ohn's relatives are opposed to the marriage mar-riage on religious grounds, but this difficulty diffi-culty will be overcome by the young woman wo-man joining the Jewish faith. If this arrangement ar-rangement is carried out it is expected that the chief Rabbi of England will officiate offi-ciate at the marriage. Miss May herself has made no definite statement in regard to the matter. |
