Utah Underground War Plant Sitei Investigated United States military officials have carefully inspected possible underground war plant sites in east central Utah. The inspection is preparatory to blasting tests, set for late this year to determine deter-mine feasibility of underground war plant construction. Colonel Joseph S. Gorlinski, army engineer head, district office, of-fice, Sacramento, Calif., supervised super-vised the inspection of Utah sites. Definite explosion tests are planned plan-ned for areas in the vicinity of Castle Dale, in central Utah and the Dugway Proving Grounds, western Utah. To Have Booths At Coast Vacation Shows The Utah department of publicity pub-licity has arranged to have a Utah booth at a coming Los Angeles An-geles Vacation and Sportsmen's , show, and also a San Francisco show of a similar nature. The object will be to induce more coast people to come to Utah for their vacations, for fishing, camping camp-ing and hunting. At a Los Angeles Angel-es vacation show in 1946, more than 125,000 people visited the Utah booth during the ten days of the show. J Zion Garden Spot To Be Beautified The beautification of the little town of Springdale adjacent to the west entrance of Zion national nation-al park is now underway. Located Locat-ed in a picturesque valley and enjjoying a semi-tropical climate the area will be converted into a veritible Garden of Eden thru the cooperation of the Mormon church, the Utah state agricultural agricul-tural college and Charles Smith, superintendent of the park.. Cattle Rustlers Worry Northern Counties Police officers of Cache, Box Elder, Weber and Davis counties are planning a campaign against , cattle rustling in Northern Utah. In the early days, cattle rustling rustl-ing was not- a criminal occupation; occupa-tion; anyone who could round up a maverick an animal without a brand could claim the beast. Many a rancher built up his herd in this manner taking the mavericks mav-ericks from the open range. The modern rustler however works in a different manner.
