Show MARVIN BERTOCH CANDIDATE FOR ATTORNEY POST Marvin J. Bertoch, former FBI Agent and present chief criminal deputy county attorney of Salt Lake county, today announced his candidacy for the Republican Republi-can nomination for district attorney at-torney of the Third Judicial district, dis-trict, including Salt Lake, Tooele, Summit and Daggett counties. Mr. Bertoch, a member of the Utah Bar since 1941, studied law at the University of Utah and the University of Michigan. He served as special agent for the FBI in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Newark and Memphis and resigned re-signed from that position to enter en-ter the U. S. navy. He served as I MARVIN J. BERTOCH executive officer and later as captain of a rocket and anti-aircraft ship in the Pacific theatre of war, returning to his law practice prac-tice in Salt Lake in 1946. In January of 1947 he was appointed ap-pointed chief criminal prosecutor on the staff of Edward M. Moms-sey, Moms-sey, Salt Lake county attorney. He is a member of the Salt Lake County and Utah Bar Associa- UHe was born in Hunter, Utah, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Bertoch. He attended Cyprus high school where he was student body president in 193-32 193-32 and later worked as a laborer at the Magna Mill of Utah Copper Cop-per Company. He has lived his entire life in Utah except for the periods spent with the FBI and the navy. He resides with his wife and daughter at 2158 Wilson Wil-son avenue in Salt Lake City. |
