The time within whieh claims against the Mexican Mexi-can government must be presented has been extended to r'euruary 1, lkt-J, according ac-cording to an official announcement made here today. The time previously hud been ret to expire on February 1, 192. A commission consisting of a president presi-dent and four members, all Mexican citizens appointed by the president of the republic, will pass upon claims for injuries to Individuals or to property as a result of the revolutionary movements move-ments from 119 to 1917. Data will then be requoau-d from the proper authorities to cut stilish sti-lish the Justice of the claim and the amount of indemnity to be paid. While these proceedings are pending the claimants may present such prods as they desire, but with the understanding under-standing that whatever may be the nature na-ture of the evidence relied upon to prove the damages claimed, thj final results thereof must be submitted to the commission In writing. When the commission has made Its decision the claimant will be Infornv-d of the result. He may then express hia approval or disapproval in writing. In-demnification. The commisslorf will consider only claims based upon 1. Damages caused by the revolutionary revolu-tionary forces, or those recognized as such by the legitimate governments, which have been established In the republic re-public upon the triumph of the respective-revolutions.- 2. Dam apes caused by the forces of such governments in the exercise of their functions and during the fighting with the rebels; and. 3. Damages caused by the forces appertaining ap-pertaining to the socalled federal army until Its dissolution. i Claims arising from the revolution! of 18J0 which have beenau bmitted to the advlFory commission will be considered con-sidered by the new commission. Claims may be bssed upon the destruction- of private property, the requisition of money or securities, animals ani-mals or merchandise, or any other damage to Individuals or property. When a claim does not exceed &0O pesos in the p pinion of the claimant, the commission sdmlts aa proven the fact of the damage. Foreign claimants must accompany their claims by documents showing their nationality, and those who faili to do so will be considered as Mexican citizens and as having waived any right they might have to present ttielr claims subsequently through diplomatic diplo-matic channels. Stock companies, organised under the laws of Mexico, will be considered as Mexican, so far as claims are concerned, con-cerned, even though some or all of the stockholders may be foreigners. Foreign claimants who do not agree with the advisory report of the commission com-mission will be permitted to present their objections either in person or through d i p 1 omatlc channels. |
