It waa rushed to Salt Ijike over the wirea of the Western L'nion Telegraph company by the Leishman Telegraph Picture Service company In the form of a telegraphic tele-graphic picture code. The mvriHil of dots ond dashes when assembled together produced the picture. It was received here by the regular operators of the Western L'nion and assembled under the prsonal direction of J. L. Leishman of Ogden, inventor and president of the picture service company. A total of 6-10 code words, representing the various lines and five different dif-ferent color shades, were used in transmitting th. photograph. The code message was worked out into picture form by M. B. Koblnson, The Telegram's Tele-gram's staff artist. It was Mr. Koblnson's second attempt at producing a picture from a telegraphic code. The picture was taken shortly after noon Friday In Washington as Mr. Harding and Mr. Wilson left the White House together In an automobile. The picture message was ready for reproduction in &alt Lake aeven hours later. . The Telegram haa obtained the exclusive rights In Fait Lake City for telegraphed pictures and as events of importance happen or people spring Into prominence telegraphed plctiires will be flashed to The Telegram. |
