The brunette who has a somewhat some-what sallow complexion com-plexion will rejoice in the purple char- feet to line the bouffant draperies that distinguish dis-tinguish one side of the gown. Gold flowers are arranged on the opposite op-posite side of the gown, while a fold of gold ribbon encircles the part of the waistline waist-line that is untrimmed by these lovely blossoms. The hair gams a more lovely sheen from the petals of the gold flowers that are interestingly disposed dis-posed amid its tresses. Among accessories of This vestee has matching undersleeves of exquisitely fine lingerie cloth. Bracelets are still in high favor with the fashionably attired jvoman. Many are worn together but they need not be of the same metal or enriched with similar jewels. When two are used on one arm very often the combination of one ivory bracelet and one of tortoise shell is noted. Another type of bracelet is that made of tiny pearl beads strung on a small chain. Such bracelets may be of great length, for they are wound around the arm a number a of times and fastened at the wrist. Egyptian and. oriental motifs are shown in the new neck chains. The pendants pen-dants are imitations of the scarab, sometimes some-times enriched with tiny colored stones in fascinating color combinations. The colored col-ored silk cords to which they are attached often match these stones. Cut crystal is also much in request this season. Neck chains, pendants, bracelets and hatpins show most pleasing use of the stones. The hatpins are both large and small in shape. Some are designed with a crystal button from which hangs a chain and jet drop. Others have several rings of colored stones, which make splendid decorations for the hat. dress there are many delightful delight-ful novelties that appeal to the woman who realizes the im- IN CHOOSING CLOTHES for the varied-events varied-events of the day, the well-dressed woman seeks first to obtain the lines that will accentuate the beauty of her fig-ure. fig-ure. If she is of rather portly proportions propor-tions she will strive to attain a slender effect ef-fect by affecting longgraceful lines. If. on the other hand, she has an attenuated figure, she will soften its angles by adopting adopt-ing ruffles and more bouffant draperies. But if she would achieve greater individuality indi-viduality she must consider color in its relation to her eyes or hair. To enhance their beauty is an important consideration, considera-tion, for color reacts not only on the spirits spir-its of the person who favors certain hades, but it also exerts its Influence on those around. Each different type of coloring demands de-mands particular shades. But if their values are once learned and appreciated, any woman may possess distinction in her attiring. The brunette possesses quite n wide number of colors from which she may make her 'choice. Care, however, should be exercised even in their selection, for the girl with brunette hair may have a lovely olive complexion or a somewhat aallow skin. As a rule, intense and brilliant colors are those best suited to the coloring of the brunette. Green must be avoided, otherwise other-wise a rather sickly tone pervades the complexion. Brown, too, takes away from the beauty of the face and suggests a muddiness that is far from pleasing. Her Street Attire For the street suit black or navy is admirable. ad-mirable. Then gray tweeds, black and white checks or stripes are also excellent. Of course, combined with these, one may ' add bright touches in the trimmings. This is interestingly interpreted in the blue serge dress. Designed with a long tunic ( it is elaborated with red soutache trim- mings on the shoulders and on the front of the frock. The sleeves are long and wrinkled finely on the forearm. A gold cloth vest introduces another delightful dash of color on the dress. Three rather straightly cut flounces offset the long lines of the tunic. With this striking creation a red satin hat is worn, for brilliant shades . axe decidedly becoming to tha brunette. worn advantageously. The brunette will find that there are many shades c?f cream portance of these details. The Directoire vestee is of particular interest now that many charming creations are being originated orig-inated along the Unes of this well-likel style. It has a high collar and is finished with a frill which is placed at the left side. Another cjiarming model with shirring down the front boasts a handsome jabot. The material is gathered very full around the neck beneath the high crushed collar. meuse dress that is depicted on this pafre. This color Is especially becoming and is not too brilliant for outdoor wear. With this frock I have introduced some jade straps and buttons. These are placed upon the shoulder to bridge the space that is really a continuation continua-tion of the neckline. The bodice blouses softly about the figure and is restrained at the waistline by a soft girdle that is tied at the side. Unusual but most attractive drapery is disposed on the front and back of the skirt. This is developed in the purple charmeuse and held in place by large jade buttons. Jade earrings are quite harmonious, har-monious, and the wavy tresses are topped by a fascinating little hat of cerise satin. To its side is attached a gorgeous flower, also wrought in cerise satin. The all-black hat is an exceedingly attractive at-tractive addition to the headgear of the . brunette," for it may be worn with any frock or suit I have chosen one of draped black satin to accompany the orange flannel flan-nel dress. The simple lines of the hat achieve decided individuality by the use of the waving glycerined feather. Black is used with admirable restraint on tha dress, which boasts a vestee of black satin. The wide-mouthed sleeves reveal their lining lin-ing of black satin. The decoration of this dress Is uncom- mon. The tassels that edge the somewhat tight underskirt and flare from the waist and neckline, are of gold. They are attached at-tached to the dress by orange wool and gold thread. This dress, admirable for the woman of slender figure, has the fullness full-ness effectively held in on tha side by these tassels.. It is, of course. In the modes for evening even-ing that the most gorgeous colors may be that greatly enhance the beauty of her coloring. Then certain yellows, especially those that have quite a tinge of canary in them, are excellent The brunette, however, how-ever, should avoid yellows that lean toward green, as this will lend a wanness to the complexion that detracts immeasur-. ably from her beauty. The Evening Gown In the evening gown that I have created cre-ated especially for a brunette, I favor a thin gold tissue. This creation possesses wonderful lines and shows unusual draperies. drape-ries. Gold beads are embroidered all over it and at intervals handsome floral motifs are developed. The tissue in a narrow strand girdles the shoulders and from these points forms two floating trains. In the back the waist is -held up by flesh marquisette, which seems to take on a richer color by the reflection from the lining lin-ing of the trains. This is a warm copper color, and it is also used with striding ef- ma ram suriim ml The Fashion Forecast Dull finished taffetas in heavy grosgrain weaves will be extremely fashionable for . i the spring frock.
