Show BEEIHRI AIID CflMPAIIY BP Agreement Reached on Form of Contract for Crop of 1921 All details In connection with the price to be paid for beets In 1921 were completed yesterday and appiuval was given -the contract by representatives of the Utah state farm bureau, acting for the farmers, and officials of the Utah-IOaho Sugar company. Coincident with the, reaching of the agreement, It was announced that the Amalgamated Sugar company, the People's Sugar company and the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley Sugar company would use practically the same contract in miylng sugar beets this year. Under the price agreement reached, the farmers will be paid a sliding scale for lheir. bee'ta nrrnrdlng la Hie prme paid for the manufactured sugar. The contract as adopted is ss follows: TERMS OF CONTRACT. "That the grower shsll, during the yesr 1921 from seed supplied by the sugar company only, grow acres of sugar beets and shall deliver and sell the entire crop therefrom to the sugar company, and the sugar company com-pany shsll buy and pay for the same upon the terms and conditions here-Inafter here-Inafter set forth: "1. Thst the grower shsll prepare and cultivate the said land and harvest har-vest the beets grown in husbandman-like husbandman-like manner and shall deliver all said beets wtih the tops closely cut off at the base of the bottom leaf, and shall exercise reasonable care In protecting said beets from frost by covering same with tops, and protect from sun, where necessary, after removal trots the ground. The sugar company shall furnish fur-nish the beet seed necessary for the planting of said land at 20 cents per pound to the grower, and shall plant the same when so reouexted by the grower at a charge of 76 cents pee sere and at the rste of fifteen-pounds to the acre. Seed furnished by the sugar company shall not he planted upon any land not contracted q the, sugar company. Any seed furnished by the sugar company and not planted shall be returned In good order to the sugar company not later than July 1 and the grower credited therefor. DELIVERY DATE8 NAMED. "2. That delivery of beets shall be made as follows: Until snd Including October 10. only as ordered by the sugar company, and after October 10 the grower shall deliver without further fur-ther notification all unharvested beets, the sugar company reserving the right to reject beets testing less thsn 12 per cent sugar. A psyment of IS 60 per ton will be made on the fifteenth day of each month for beets delivered during the previous month. Subsequent settlements will be computed com-puted on the following dates, and payment pay-ment made fifteen days thereafter. "First subsequent settlement, February Feb-ruary 1, 1922: second subsequent settlement,' set-tlement,' June 1, 1922; final settlement, October 1. 122.
