Two varieties varie-ties of smallpox one mild, the other severe are now aeen here and there in the United States. A recent report indicates the value of compulsory vaccination. There are M states with a population popu-lation of l.S3.OO0 people, which have compulsory vaccination. In these 13 states there were 238 case of smallpox each year, which mean about one case for every 300,000 people.
