Show STRIKE AWAITED IN DISTRICT 22 Utah, Wyoming Miners to Quit at Midnight Awaiting reports of New York negotiation between Appalachian mine operators and United Mine Worker' official In New Tork, some 7000 coal miner of Utah and Wyoming Thursday were preparing to participate In a nation-wide atlrk if orders to th contrary war not received. A possibility waa aeen that the Utah and Wyoming walkout might be postponed for another day. Prasa dispatches aaid the joint negotiating ne-gotiating aubcommittca-Jtad failed to reach an agreement and would not meet again until Friday at 1 p. m. However, word from th coal camps at Plica and Rock Spring waa that th men would quit at midnight unless they received order or-der to th contrary from district 21 officials now In New York City. District 21 of the UMW, which Includes Utah and Wyoming, baa a membership of approximately 7000 men, which ia about equally divided aa between the two atat. Union officials aaid that of th 7000 total, about 5000 ar employed, but pointed ou that th ethers would b affected because with the cessation cessa-tion of all work, there would be no opportunity for those now laid off to be reemployed.
