Gillman. preaident of the Provo Water Uaera' association, i The call waa imutd at e. meeting of directors of the association here Saturday, at which George A. , Critchlow, a director from the Salt Lake metropolitan water district, and Leland H. Kimball, engineer for the district, reported the election elec-tion last Tuesday which authorized the district to subscribe to as much aa 90,000 acre feet. Mr. Gillman said the association will sign all contracts at the meeting meet-ing Wednesday and turn them over to the federal reclamation bureau. Immediate approval and consequent early start of actual construction on the 12.000.000 project is anticipated , by Mr: Gillman. , Anticipating the Salt Lake metropolitan metro-politan water district subscription at between 44.000 and 50,000 acre feet, Mr. Gillman said subscriptions under the p"!""' ""' '"'' 90.510 acre feet out of a possible 100.000 acre feet available. The surplus ia expected to be subscribed for by private irrigation companies. These Mr. Gillman urged to make requests immediately so they may be acted on Wednesday. He also asked Mr. Critchlow to have the exact Salt Lake district subscription ready at that time. Other subscriptions which were checked at the meeting today were: ' Provo Wateruscre. 17,000 acra feet; Utah Lake Distributing company. 13.000; Provo metropolitan water district. 8000; Highland Conservation Conserva-tion district. 5010; Lehi metropoli- tan water district, 800; American Fork metropolitan water district, 500; Orem metropolitan water district, dis-trict, 1900; Utah national guard, 1000. , |
