Show WELFARE CHIEF GETS EXTRA JOB The stat board of public welfare Tueeday appointed Ita director, J. W. Gillman, as director of old age assistance. Mr. Gillman will have direct charge of ona of the largest phases, old age assistance, under which maximum payments of 130 a month ar mad to needy aged. Mr. Gillman will not receive extra pay for hi added duties. The board Issued its first license under a section of the welfare act giving It Jurisdiction over agencies placing children for adoption. Permits Per-mits were granted the National Women's Wo-men's Relief society of the L. D. S. church and tha Children's Aid society so-ciety of Ogden. The board alao gav authority for Mr. Gillman to attend tha annual conference of th American Public Welfare association in Washington, D. C, la December. |
