Show POLICE GUNFIRE HALTSJUSPECT Chase Begins With Burglary Alarms A young man who fled police fun-fire fun-fire early Tuesday only to flag down an officers csr from a field was held in the city Jail for lnves- ALLEN PARKINSON A couple of housewives were scared tlgatlon as possibly being the man who "scared the life" out of a couple cou-ple of housewives and fled during a scuffle with a householder. The suspect waa Allen Parkinson. 18, who ssid hs was staying at 1249 Fourth East street. The series of svents that closed with Parkinson's arrest began at 1:11 a., m., when Detective W. C. Smith waa called to the home of Mrs. Edwin Reinhardt, 1481 Fourth East street, who said thers had been a man in her basement. He fled, she said, when shs yelled down the coal chute. Detective Smith took Mr. Valtrey on a tour of the neighborhood; and an Fourth East street, between Garfield Gar-field and Westminster svenues, they sighted a men carrying clothing, a "That's him," ahouted Mr. Val-trey. Val-trey. Tha suspect fled Into a field, whereupon Detective Smith whipped out bis service pistol and opened firs. He then called the police station sta-tion for help, the call bringing Radio Ra-dio Patrolmen M. L. Hunaaker Clarence Pelrce, J. p. Emery and Carl Crookaton and Detective J. J Ferrln. In another field on Fourth East street, between Weatminatsr and Ramona avenues, Parkinson waa apprehended, saying ha had seen one radio car go by and had hailed the car containing Detective Smith and Mr. Valtrey. Mr. Valtrey identified Parklnaon aa the man with whom he had scuffled, scuf-fled, and Detective Bmith said Parkinson Park-inson was ths one at whom he had shot. Police aald the boys' ran away from home September 11, and last Saturday returned long enough to tell a friend they were en route to Chicago. Mr. Peterson said when arrested In North Platte they had a car that bore a California registration certificate cer-tificate and automobile plates stolen from M. L, Dye, US Thirteenth East street Police hers also were Interested In three runaway Salt Lake City boys arrested In Salmon. Idaho, with a ear they had bought here. ' They were Junior Livingston, IB; Philip Toung, IS. and Alma Kinder, Id. and In view of their being juveniles juve-niles police were Investigating whsthsr a dealer had contributed to the delinquency of minora by selling them an automobile, said Detective R.
