J , - MAKING READY FOR CIVIC OPERA PRODUCTION Mis Lillian Smith, Jo Williams check score Miss Lillian Smith Is Signed To Coach Katinka' Dancers aw e w Plans Made to Speed Preparations for Fourteenth Annual.Production Miss Lillian Smith, local terpsichorean expert, Thursday Was signed by Parks Commisloner P. H. Goggin as dancing instructor for the fourteenth annual Salt Lake City civic opera production. "Ks- tinka." Miss Smith, who recently returned from Washington, D. C, where she attended a aix-week annual convention conven-tion and normal school of th dancing danc-ing masters of America, was the last director to be employed for the opera, which will be staged In South high school auditorium August 10 and 31, September 1, 2, 3 and 4. Other production officials include H. Frederick- Davis, director; Joe Williams, dramatic director; A. R. Overlade, orchestra director, and Richard Keddington, business manager, man-ager, i Ray Forsberg, city recreation director, di-rector, will have charge of a ticket aale campaign which will begin next week. Miss Srrilth announced that any city residents with dancing ability who wish to Join the opera cast may apply In offices of the recreation department In the city and county building. |
