' A telephone call to the police station shortly before noon on Tuesday related that a amall baby, locked In the back of an automobile parked for nearly three hours In front ot 63 South Mam street, was crying its head off. The Informant aald he had attempted to get to the Infant to learn If It were ill or Injured, but was prevented by locked car doors. Policewoman Gussie Friend and Detective John J. Ferrln started Immediately for the arena of distress. On the wsy they discussed what they should do for the baby: whether they should dandle It on a knee until Its parents returned or Impound it at the police station until the owner by then good and worried wor-ried by way of contrition ahould claim It.
