D. S. ward chapel. Mr. Pavne died at Ma home Monday at 7:35 p. m. after a three-month illness. , Mr. Payne was born In Fillmore, January 29. 1M. a ton of Joaeph and Harriet McBride Payne. He raealved his education in Fillmore schools and at Brigham Youns, university. uni-versity. After' serving on an L. D. S. mission to England in 1888. he returned to Fillmore, where, be-' be-' fore he entered the plaster and cement business, he was a contractor. con-tractor. Mr. Payne retired from activities activi-ties about four years ago when the plant was sold to the U. S. Gypsum company. He married Carolina Henry In the Manti L. D. S. temple April 29, 1891. She died December 5, 1933. He is survived bv three sons. Car roll R. Psyne. Richfield; William LeGrand Payne, former police chief of Salt Lake City and now of 5on Francisco, and Wendell H.
